Jennifer Kennedy - Dentist Inverurie Smile Care
Jennifer grew up in Whitehills, Banffshire before moving to Aberdeen later on during her childhood. She really enjoyed school and loved going skiing with her friends to the Scottish mountains where she and the school team attended some races. Growing up she wanted to become a veterinarian or a professional ski jumper, but finally (luckily for us ;) she decided to go with science and study dentistry, after doing some work experience in a dental practice in Aberdeen.
Jennifer decided to study dentistry at the University of Dundee and really enjoyed the social side of it all. So much so, she became the secretary of the student dental committee. She really enjoyed modules on anxiety management and general medical health. Jennifer’s absolute favourite part of university was her elective which took her and one of her good friends all the way to the Cook Islands to work in a remote clinic and also to New Zealand, to Dunedin Dental School. During this time she also had time to travel around the San Francisco area and in New Zealand. She had great fun during this time and it inspired her to go on a similar dental aid project in Haiti in 2014.
Before joining Inverurie Smile Care Jennifer worked in Dundee and also in a community children’s dental clinic in Glasgow. Later on she practiced dentistry at an emergency clinic in Shetland where she thoroughly enjoyed the island life. Jennifer has decided to join Inverurie Smile Care because it is a modern, relatively newly established dental practice and everyone seemed very friendly to her. She says she loves working here because truly everyone is helpful and hardworking and patients genuinely always come first.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys film photography, arts and crafts and practicing yoga. She loves reading books, especially recipe books. She adores travelling, experiencing different cultures and cuisines. Amongst her favourite destinations are European countries and most recently she was on a trip to Bulgaria and she hopes she will return to the region again.
